Lunch with Alyson Kenward, Ph.D.

Alyson Kenward's Bio:

I am currently the Associate Vice-President of Advancement Services at the University of Calgary, wherein I lead the groups responsible for systems and processes that support the university’s relationships with its donors, alumni and community partners. My journey from a chemistry graduate student to here is a bit meandering; when I graduated, I pursued another graduate degree in science journalism and then began a career in science communication at a non-profit research and journalism organization, Climate Central. Over the course of seven years at that organization, I migrated back to research, studying local impacts of climate change across the U.S.. In 2017, I came back to UCalgary and made a career change into university Advancement. I completed my BSc in Chemistry at UCalgary in 2003, and did my PhD with Warren Piers, graduating in 2009. I completed my MA in Science Journalism at New York University in 2010.
